En 2022 recibe el premio “El Sol de Oro” otorgado por el Círculo Nacional de Periodistas por “Su extraordinario talento siendo considerada una de las mejores voces en la historia de la música y el jazz contemporáneo en México”.

En Enero de 2019 recibió el “Premio Grandes Valores” en la categoría de Arte con Valores : “Por su sobresaliente trayectoria como cantante y compositora, ubicándose como una de las máximas figuras del jazz en México y Latinoamérica, promoviendo los valores universales mediante su obra artística, sensibilidad, calidad interpretativa y enorme talento”.

Dannah Garay es compositora y cantante de jazz; patrocinada por Shure México. Fue becada en 2009 por la Fundación Jazzfest y la representó a nivel nacional e internacional durante un año. Dannah se ha presentado en Estados Unidos, Latinoamérica y en numerosos escenarios de la República Mexicana. Además de haber participado en la serie de conciertos de Inauguración del Global Jazz Institute del Berklee College of Music de Boston.

Su trabajo dentro del jazz mexicano se dio a conocer por su tributo a Nat “King” Cole “From you…to you”, disco grabado con Gabriel Hernández, (Cuba) en la dirección musical, arreglos y piano, Tyler Mitchell (Chicago) en el contrabajo, Ken Basman + (Canadá) en la guitarra y Juan Ale Sáenz (México) en la batería, llamando la crítica nacional e internacional y dándose a conocer como una de las mejores cantantes del jazz mexicano.

Con su producción discográfica“My Miracle”, Dannah Garay se coloca definitivamente como una de las mejores intérpretes de jazz que existen actualmente en México. Con este álbum sorprende a su público además como compositora, con una exquisita y extraordinaria capacidad de inventiva melódica con 12 temas de su autoría, acompañados por extraordinarios arreglos a cargo del maestro Alex Mercado.

En febrero de 2018 lanza su disco “Cuenta conmigo”, una producción bajo la dirección de Oscar Stagnaro, ganador de varios grammys a lo largo de su trayectoria. En este álbum participa la sección rítmica de Paquito D’Rivera (Alex Brown piano, Mark Walker batería y Oscar Stagnaro bajo y arreglos) además de la colaboración de Paulo Stagnaro en la percusión y Alberto Medina en la guitarra. Una producción que combina diferentes estilos y ritmos latinos; dicho álbum fue catalogado como uno de los mejores discos del 2018.

Dannah ha alternado cartelera con figuras como Kurt Elling, Charlie Hunter, Ravi Coltrane, entre otros artistas de talla internacional.

En 2021 lanza los sencillos pertenecientes a la colección “Winter or Summer series” todos temas de su autoría.

In 2022 she received the “El Sol de Oro” award granted by the National Circle of Journalists for her “extraordinary talent and for being one of the best voices in the history of music and contemporary jazz in Mexico”.

In 2019 she received the “Great merit award”, which quotes the following: “For her outstanding career as a singer and songwriter, earning a spot as one of the greatest Jazz figures in Mexico and Latin America, promoting universal values through her artistic work, sensibility, interpretative quality and great talent”.

Dannah Garay is a Mexican jazz singer and songwriter, sponsored by Shure Mexico. Dannah won a scholarship from the Jazz Fest Foundation and was a part of the Foundation’s representative ensemble for a year. Dannah has performed in the U.S., Latin America and in acclaimed Jazz festivals all over Mexico. She also performed at the inaugural concerts of the Global Jazz Institute at the Berklee College of Music in Boston.

She received her fist award for the album “Forever and Ever Bossa and Jazz” after it sold 15 thousand copies during the first months of its release in Mexico. Her second album, “From you… to you”: A tribute to Nat “King” Cole, made the list of the top ten best-selling Jazz albums of the most important music stores in Mexico. This material includes a full musical selection, excellent arrangements and an exquisite interpretation that comes to life and transports us to that magical, romantic time that will always remain in the hearts of those who cherish these beautiful songs.

In 2018 she released the album “Cuenta conmigo”, arranged and produced by Oscar Stagnaro (Grammy award winner). Paquito D’Rivera’s rhythm section recorded this production (Alex Brown: piano; Mark Walker: Drums; Oscar Stagnaro: bass; and Paulo Stagnaro: Percussions). This production combines different styles and Latin rhythms, the album was named as one of the best albums of 2018.

Together with Armando Báez, she currently hosts two TV programs on channel 4 and channel 14 of Mexican national television.

Dannah performed on the same stage as Kurt Elling, Charlie Hunter and Ravi Coltrane, among other internationally renowned artists, during the Riviera Maya festival.

In 2021 she released the singles of her “Winter or Summer series” collection, which she wrote.
